Manchester City’s midfielder, Rodri, is facing a ban because of what he said following their 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on February 1.

The Football Association has issued a statement claiming that the Spanish player was involved in improper behavior.

The Cityzens played against Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on February 1.

They controlled the first half really well and took a 2-0 lead with goals from Ryan Cherki in the 11th minute and Antoine Semenyo in the 44th.

Dominic Solanke then scored for the home team in the 53rd minute after it looked like he kicked Marc Guehi’s leg first.

However, the goal was allowed after the VAR checked it. Solanke then scored an amazing scorpion kick in the 70th minute to get the game tied at 2-2.

After the game, Rodri hit out at the referees during an interview, saying, “The referees need to be fair.” The FA has stated the incident, saying, “It is claimed that the midfielder behaved inappropriately during a press conference after the game by making remarks that suggest bias or challenge the fairness of a match official or officials, which goes against FA Rule 3.1.”

Rodri has until Wednesday, February 18, to give his answer.

The Spanish midfielder also shouted at the referees after the VAR decision let Dominic Solanke’s goal count. This happened after Manchester City faced other controversial decisions from the officials, including against teams like Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle United.

Meanwhile, Manchester City is behind Arsenal at the top of the Premier League by four points.
