Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has rewarded Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team, the Falconets, with $15,000 for their impressive 4-0 victory over Rwanda in their 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifying match.

Cyber Reporters reports that governor Makinde announced the cash gift during a visit to the team after the game, recognizing their outstanding performance.

The Falconets dominated the match, with Precious Oscar, Tumininu Adeshina, Janet Akekoromowei, and Alaba Olabiyi scoring the goals that sealed a convincing win.

With this victory, the Falconets won the two-legged contest 5-0 on aggregate, showcasing their strength and determination.

The team’s next challenge will be the final qualifying round in February 2026, where they will face Senegal.

Senegal earned their spot in the next round after defeating Algeria 2-0 on aggregate.

The Falconets will look to build on their momentum and make a strong impression in the upcoming matches.
