Former Chelsea and Arsenal defender David Luiz has found himself at the centre of a scandal following leaked messages that appear to show him engaging in inappropriate conversations with another woman , despite being engaged.

The claims, reported by Brazilian entertainment outlet LeoDias, allege that Luiz, now playing for Cypriot side Pafos FC, exchanged flirtatious and explicit messages with a woman named Karol Cavalcante via social media. The two are said to have never met in person, though Cavalcante released screenshots of what she claims were private Instagram conversations with the Brazilian international.

Among the alleged messages, Cavalcante claims Luiz suggested a threesome involving her and a friend, bizarrely describing the act as a way of “serving the Lord.” She also accused the footballer of becoming “aggressive” in tone when she declined his advances, leaving her feeling “insecure and worried.”

“We started talking, and as the days went by, the messages became more frequent,” Cavalcante told LeoDias. “He even suggested a threesome with my friend, but I wasn’t comfortable with that. I noticed his behaviour became more aggressive, and I began to feel unsafe.”

In the leaked messages, Luiz,  known for his devout Christian beliefs , allegedly told Cavalcante: “Serving the Lord is the way forward,” and encouraged her to take legal action against a third party who might expose their alleged interactions.

The footballer’s management agency has since responded to the claims, denying any physical meeting took place between Luiz and the woman in question.

“As previously reported, although there was a brief exchange via text message, there was never any face-to-face meeting between David Luiz and the person making the contrary allegations,” read the official statement.

The Magna Praia Hotel in Fortaleza, which Cavalcante claimed Luiz had visited, also stated there was no record of the footballer staying at the property.

Luiz, 38, has been engaged to his long-time partner Bruna Loureiro since 2019. The couple share two children. While Luiz has yet to comment directly on the controversy, he reaffirmed his “commitment to the truth” and expressed confidence that “the facts will be duly clarified.”

Loureiro, meanwhile, shared a cryptic message on Instagram following the emergence of the story:

“I hope good times find you wherever you are, even on the most ordinary days.
May they arrive unexpectedly, like a beautiful coincidence seemingly written by the universe.
May they come as a source of peace after a difficult day. May good times always be your path, even when you’re not looking for them.”

As of now, no legal action has been announced, and Luiz continues to feature for Pafos FC in the Cypriot First Division.
