Arsenal midfielder, Declan Rice has lavished praise on his teammates’ offensive performance after their victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby.
Yesterday night, the Gunners defeated their North London rivals 2-1 in their derby match. As they continue to put pressure on the Reds, Arteta’s team exploited Liverpool’s error against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.
The Reds still have a game still to play, but the victory puts them four points behind Arne Slots’ team in the Premier League title battle.
Rice told TNT Sports after the game that he didn’t need any extra motivation to play his team’s toughest opponents and that the win might have been much easier.
He said, “We are unlucky we didn’t score 10, that’s the feeling. We don’t need a message, playing Spurs, if you can’t get up for that then you shouldn’t be playing football.
“We could have had another five or six and that is the disappointing thing. Tonight meant more than anything. From the first minute, the first 45 was pure domination, you can tell it was a derby.”
