President Bola Tinubu while presenting the 2025 budget to the National Assembly on Wednesday, mistakenly referred to the 10th Senate as the 11th, drawing attention to the error.

However, President Tinubu quickly recovered with a light-hearted remark, saying “10th? I wrote 11th, which means you’re all re-elected,” which drew laughter and applause from the lawmakers.

The President’s humorous comment helped ease the formal tone of the event, and he went on to deliver his address.

He expressed his commitment to rebuilding Nigeria and ensuring a prosperous future.

The President’s presentation marked the beginning of the budget review process, which will involve debates and discussions among lawmakers.

The 2025 budget proposal, amounting to ₦47.96 trillion, outlines the government’s expenditure priorities for the upcoming year.

The proposal will be debated and reviewed by lawmakers in the coming sessions, key allocations and their implications will be scrutinized, and adjustments may be made before the budget is finalized.

President Tinubu’s budget presentation was attended by top government officials and lawmakers.

Cyber Reporters earlier reported that Tinubu arrived at the National Assembly at exactly 12:14 p.m. and was formally received by the lawmakers.

The event marked an important milestone in the budget process, which will shape the country’s economic and development agenda for 2025.
