2024 CAF Awards Set to Hold in Marrakech, Morocco

The 2024 CAF Awards is set to hold in Marrakech, Morocco on Monday, December 16 in a spectacular celebration of African football.

The event which is aimed at recognizing the continent’s top players, coaches, and teams will take place at the Palais des Congrès and will begin at 19h00 local time (18h00 GMT/ 20h00 Cairo time/ 21h00 East African time).

Africa’s top football experts have voted for their favourite players in a variety of categories for men and women, including the coveted Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year, and Young Player of the Year.

The list of 30 outstanding performers in the Men’s Player of the Year category has been reduced to five, with the final three to be announced this week ahead of the Awards presentation.

Some of the greatest names in African football history have won the title, including record four-time winners Samuel Eto’o (Cameroon) and Yaya Toure (Cote d’Ivoire), as well as George Weah (Liberia) and Abedi Pele (Ghana), who each have three wins.

Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala tops the Women’s division with six wins, two more than her compatriot Perpetua Nkwocha.

The finest clubs and national teams will also be recognized, and fans will vote for their favorite goal from among numerous exceptional ones, with an award for the most stunning strike in 2024.
