On Friday, popular priest and disciple of the late Bello, Alhaji Basit Olarenwaju, also known as Aponle Anabi, shared a photo of the 84-year-old scholar with tearful emojis on his official Facebook page, confirming the news of his death.
While the circumstances surrounding his death are unknown, it signals the end of an era for a man who spent decades changing the lives of countless people via his wisdom, advice, and spiritual leadership.
Multiple local media outlets in Oyo State have announced the acclaimed cleric’s death.
Similarly, Sheikh Taofeeq Akeugbagold, an Islamic cleric, announced his death in a Facebook post on Friday morning.
