YouTube sensation, Jake Paul has confessed to feeling intimidated during his highly-anticipated bout with boxing legend, Mike Tyson on Saturday.
Cyber Reporters reports that despite securing a unanimous decision victory at AT&T Stadium, Paul admitted that facing Tyson was a daunting task.
“It was tough, just like I expected,” Paul said, his voice laced with relief and admiration. “Mike Tyson is truly one of the greatest boxers of all time – an icon and a legend.”
The thrilling eight-round fight saw Paul dominate the stats, landing 78 punches to Tyson’s 18, with a significant difference in punch attempts (278-97).
However, Paul revealed that he opted for a strategic approach rather than going for a knockout, citing caution.
“I was scared he was going to hurt me,” Paul acknowledged. “I was trying to hurt him, but I also didn’t want to take unnecessary risks.”
Paul’s respect for Tyson’s formidable reputation and power was evident throughout the fight, showcasing a mature and calculated approach from the younger boxer.
