Doyin Okupe, a former presidential spokesman, has a strategy to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
Okupe believes a joint effort between Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP, would do the trick.
According to Okupe if these two forces combine, they will be unstoppable, adding that if former President Goodluck Jonathan joins the race, it is game over for Tinubu.
Okupe took to X to share his thoughts, stating that many Nigerian politicians lack depth in their thinking.
He emphasized that an Atiku-Obi alliance would be a winning combination, assuming that the Yoruba people would not be swayed by Tinubu’s influence.
Okupe also suggested that business mogul Aliko Dangote should follow Elon Musk’s lead and support Atiku, implying that backing anyone else would be suicidal.
Cyber Reporters gathered that talks of a potential merger between Atiku, Obi, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, have been ongoing, according to PDP deputy national publicity secretary Ibrahim Abdullahi.
The goal is to form a formidable alliance to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2027.
Abdullahi believes that if the PDP’s past leadership had managed internal conflicts better, key figures like Obi and Kwankwaso would still be part of the party, and they would have won the 2023 election.
