President Bola Tinubu has sworn in seven new ministers to his cabinet, marking a significant reshuffle following months of growing calls from Nigerians for change.

Cyber Reporters reports that the ministers took their oaths at the Council Chambers in Abuja on Monday, after being cleared by the Senate last week.

This cabinet shake-up comes after Tinubu sacked five ministers and reassigned ten others to new portfolios.

The new appointees to bring fresh perspectives to various key ministries are Nentawe Yilwatda now heads the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, while Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi takes the helm at the Ministry of Labour & Employment.

Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu joins as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

In addition to these appointments, Jumoke Oduwole becomes the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, focusing on trade and investment.

Idi Mukhtar Maiha leads the Ministry of Livestock Development, and Yusuf Abdullahi Ata serves as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development.

Suwaiba Said Ahmad completes the new lineup as Minister of State for Education.

These changes follow the removal of five ministers, including Uju-Ken Ohanenye, Lola Ade-John, Tahir Mamman, Abdullahi Gwarzo, and Jamila Ibrahim, who previously held positions in Women Affairs, Tourism, Education, Housing and Urban Development, and Youth Development, respectively.

The presidency also renamed the Ministry of Niger Delta Development to the Ministry of Regional Development, expanding its scope to oversee Regional Development Commissions.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Sports Development was scrapped, with its functions transferred to the National Sports Commission.
