Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has gifted the Flying Eagles, Nigeria’s Under-20 national football team, 5 million naira after their thrilling 2-1 win over Cote d’Ivoire in the WAFU B Under-20 Championship.

Cyber Reporters reports that this victory showcased the young players’ skill and determination, securing their spot in the competition’s semi-finals.

The Flying Eagles received not only Ndidi’s generous support but also Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau’s contribution of 2 million naira, recognizing their outstanding performance against Cote d’Ivoire.

Under head coach Aliyu Zubairu’s guidance, the team now faces the Niger Republic in a pivotal semi-final match, aiming to advance to the championship final.

Initially scheduled for Saturday at Lome’s Stade Municipal, the match has been rescheduled to Sunday evening at 7 PM, giving the team more preparation time for this challenging encounter.

A win against Niger Republic would not only propel the Flying Eagles into the finals but also secure their qualification for the 2025 Africa Under-20 Cup of Nations in South Africa.

The Flying Eagles have a rich history, having won seven African U-20 Cup of Nations titles and finishing as runners-up in the FIFA U-20 World Cup twice.

As they move forward in the WAFU B Under-20 Championship, the team’s determination and skill will be crucial in overcoming the challenges ahead.

With the support of Ndidi, Barau, and their coaching staff, the Flying Eagles are poised to make a lasting impact in the world of football.
