Real Madrid has been dealt a significant injury blow ahead of their October 19 LaLiga clash with Celta Vigo as defender Eder Militão gets sidelined with left leg injury.

Militão was diagnosed with a muscle injury in the quadriceps of his left leg, the club announced on Tuesday.

The injury diagnosis comes on the heels of Real Madrid’s 2-0 victory over Villarreal in LaLiga last weekend.

Militão’s progress will be closely monitored by Los Blancos during the international break.

According to the club’s statement, “Following tests carried out on our player Eder Militão by Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the quadriceps of his left leg. His progress will be monitored.”

Militão is expected to be sidelined for approximately ten days, which would have him returning to action later this month.

This timeline suggests the Brazilian international will miss the Celta Vigo match but may be available for subsequent games.

Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti will need to adjust his defensive lineup in Militão’s absence.
