The Federal Government of Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to tackling youth unemployment by creating one million jobs across all 774 local government areas.

Minister of State for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, announced this initiative in Abuja.

Olawande emphasized the government’s determination to educate, inspire, and connect Nigerian youths to careers and opportunities in the insurance sector using digital technology.

According to Olawande, this move aims to increase youth participation in the insurance sector, fostering job creation and financial inclusion.

He disclosed that the government’s broader efforts to address youth unemployment also include a new rural electricity project, funded by the World Bank, set to commence in November.

The minister said the project will provide electricity to 17.5 million Nigerians, supporting economic development and job creation.

Olawande stated that the Federal Government’s initiatives demonstrate a commitment to addressing youth unemployment and promoting economic growth in Nigeria.

By leveraging digital technology and investing in critical infrastructure, the government seeks to empower Nigerian youths and enhance the country’s economic prospects, he added.
