The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has made a major bust, arresting 24 suspected Internet fraudsters in Benin City, Edo State.

These suspects were caught on Monday at various locations within the city, thanks to actionable intelligence gathered by the EFCC’s Benin Zonal Directorate.

The EFCC on X disclosed that they recovered some pretty impressive items from the suspects, including 11 exotic cars, laptops, phones, and a whopping N160,000 from one of the suspects.

According to the EFCC, the suspects have been cooperating and making useful statements, adding that they will be charged to court as soon as the investigations are wrapped up.

The statement partly reads, “The suspects were arrested following actionable intelligence of their suspected involvement in computer-related fraud.

“Items recovered from them include 11 exotic cars, laptops, and phones. The sum of N160,000.00 (one hundred and sixty thousand naira) was also recovered from one of the suspects.”

Cyber Reporters gathered that this is not the first time the EFCC has made a significant arrest in Benin City.

In recent months, they have arrested numerous suspected internet fraudsters, including 27 in June and 39 in April.
