The police have verified the arrest of Adeleye Ayomide as the suspect in the killing of Idowu Christiana, a 300-level student at the Federal University of Agriculture in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

On Monday, August 19, 2024, the deceased was taken by alleged abductors on the Ikorodu-Yaba Road in Lagos State.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, a police spokesperson in Lagos, confirmed the arrest in a post on Thursday via his X (previously Twitter) profile @benHundeyin.

“23-year-old Ayomide Adeleye has been handed over to #LagosPoliceNG by 9 Brigade #HQNigerianArmy. The handover took place today, September 5, 2024, at about 1400hrs. The investigation is ongoing.”

The horrifying incident has ignited widespread outrage across Nigeria, especially on social media. Many Nigerians have taken to Twitter to demand justice for Christiana, with the hashtag #JusticeForChristianah trending.
