Nigerian Celebrities have been flooding Super Eagles’ goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali’s Instagram page with condolence messages following their team’s failure in the AFCON 2023 final in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

The Super Eagles lost 2-1 to Ivory Coast, despite Nwabali’s remarkable performance.

Nwabali apologized to Nigerians on his Instagram page, expressing his sadness and displeasure while acknowledging his comprehension of their feelings as a former and present fan. 

He accepted full responsibility, thanked Nigerians for their support, and expressed his love for them.

He said, “A disappointing and frustrating end. I deeply apologize to Nigerians. I was once a fan, still a fan and I understand how it feels giving you a disappointing night. We take full responsibility. Thanks for the whole support till the end. I love you all “

Celebrities flooded his comments section to offer words of comfort and extend their support.

Alex Unusual reassured him, stating, “Please you didn’t do anything wrong. You owe no one an apology. You disappointed no one. Thank you so much for representing Nigeria”.

Ruby Ojiakor empathized, noting, “It was just you against the lovebirds our players didn’t play anything that wasn’t serious at all. You over-tried my man”

Cute Abiola encouraged him to focus on World Cup qualification, emphasizing determination for future success.

“You are great! Let’s focus on World Cup qualification now. We go hard. Thanks, champ”.

Yemi Elesho jokingly blamed the referee for the outcome, showing solidarity with Nwabali.

“Baba na man you be, na that referee make you just find for us abeg”

Various other celebrities commended his efforts, expressing pride and admiration for his dedication to the team.
