The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, has come under fire from Nigerian veteran singer and activist Charles Oputa, often known as Charly Boy, for claiming that Tinubu’s presidency was preordained by God.
He vented his annoyance at the monarch’s viewpoint on his Instagram feed.

The king was cited as saying, “God has ordained that Tinubu would become President of Nigeria,” during the visit. We are all one. I support calm and serenity. We have to coexist as one. Reacting to the monarch’s comment, Charly Boy shared a screenshot of the news and lambasted the revered monarch, asking why he would leave his palace to come to Lagos state to make such a statement.
