The Lagos Coroner Court in Ikorodu has verified that a toxicology test is now being conducted in the United States of America to ascertain the cause of the untimely death of the late Nigerian artist Mohbad.

This information was disclosed by state attorney O. Akinde on Wednesday during an ongoing inquest, giving a status report on the investigation’s development.

Akinde notified Adetayo Shotobi, the Coroner Magistrate, that the autopsy had finished with the deceased’s external body and that a toxicological test was required to examine the interior.

The US is where the toxicology test, which deals with the internal body, is carried out, according to Akinde.

The revelation was made in response to the lawyer for the deceased man’s father, David Fadimu, who kept asking questions about why the test results weren’t available sooner.

Throughout the hearing, Magistrate Shotobi voiced her inquisitiveness regarding the selection of a foreign toxicologist, especially in light of the existence of toxicology labs in Nigeria.

During the court hearing, the rationale for this ruling was not made clear.

In other news, the Lagos state police have stated that they have told Joseph Aloba, the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, that he has the option to pick up his son’s body whenever he pleases, but he has declined to apply.

Remember that on Tuesday, November 21, the singer’s mother posted a video on social media stating that the singer’s father has been given access to his body, but he has refused to bury it.
