The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered that embattled Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emiefele be remanded in Kuje correctional facility.

The order was given by Justice Hamza Muazu who said he should be kept in the facility pending the Verdict on his bail application.

Nigeria anti graft agency, the  Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had filed a six count against the former CBN Governor, where he had pleaded not guilty.

The Case was adjourned till Nov 22, for the hearing of his bail application.

Emeifele’s lead counsel, Mathew Burkaa had moved the motion for bail but was opposed by counsel to the federal government, Rotimi Oyedepo.

The Judge also asked for more time to evaluate tendered evidences and review the arguments of both parties to make a decision.
