Tragic floods in eastern Spain have forced the postponement of several La Liga matches, including Real Madrid’s away game at Valencia and Villarreal’s home match against Rayo Vallecano.

Cyber Reporters gathered that the devastating floods have claimed over 95 lives, prompting the Spanish football federation to take action.

The federation has agreed to postpone all matches in the Valencia region, including professional and non-professional competitions, as well as indoor football games.

This decision affects not only Valencia and Villarreal’s matches on Saturday but also three second-division games involving teams from affected areas.

In a statement, the RFEF explained that the postponement aims to ensure the safety and well-being of players, staff, and fans.

The federation had already postponed several Copa del Rey first-round matches, including Valencia’s game against Parla Escuela.

As a mark of respect, a moment of silence will be observed at matches across Spain this weekend, including the highly anticipated Catalan derby between league leaders Barcelona and Espanyol on Sunday.

This gesture honors the victims of the floods and acknowledges the devastating impact on the community.
