Yobe State Governor Appoints Chief of Staff, SSG

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has appointed a new Secretary to the State Government and his Chief of Staff.

The Governor confirmed the appointment of Baba Malam Wali as the Secretary to the State Government, SSG and Alahaji Abdullahi Yusuf Gashu’a as Chief of Staff.

The State Commissioner, Ministry of Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Abdullahi Bego disclosed this on Wednesday while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting.

In his words:

“I want to bring to the notice of the members of the press and members of the public, that Governor Mai Mala Buni has graciously confirmed the appointment of Secretary to the State Government and has also confirmed the appointment of Chief of Staff to His Excellency the Governor.

These individuals were holding these positions in acting capacities”, he said.

Recall that both Baba Malam Wali and Alhaji Abdullahi Gashu’a have been serving in acting capacities since June 19, 2023, in Governor Buni’s second tenure which started on 29th May, 2023.
