Following the many reactions from the order by Federal Government for the removal of the popular “all eyes on the Judiciary” signboard,

A former Minister of Education, Obiageli Ezekwesili has given her own opinion.

Ezekwesili while reacting to the development via her social media handle said that the Nation’s judiciary owes Nigerians a duty to deliver judicial transparency and credibility.

It will be recalled that the federal government ordered the removal of the billboards of “All Eyes on the Judiciary” nationwide, on the grounds that the said statement would incite the people against the judiciary.

In a similar reaction, the Nigerian government had dissolved the Advertising Standard Panel (ASP) secretariat over its approval of the ‘All Eyes on The Judiciary’ advert.

This was revealed in a press statement on Tuesday by the Director General of the Advertising regulatory council of Nigeria, Dr Olalekan Fadolepo, wherein the particular advertisement was described as insensitive”

However, in a counter reaction, Ezekwesili declared that digital billboards were way cheaper and that the regulators were rather misguided for pulling the initial one down.

She wrote, “A Digital Billboard is so much cheaper than one that an obviously misguided regulator demolished.

“So here’s my message to our Nigerian Judiciary that constitutionally owes citizens absolute judicial independence, transparency and integrity:

#AllEyesOnTheJudiciary.”
