Super Eagles’ interim manager, Austin Eguavoen has cautioned winger Samuel Chukwueze to be mindful of his dribbling decisions ahead of Nigeria’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya.
In an interview, Eguavoen emphasized the importance of smart decision-making on the field, particularly when it comes to dribbling.
The AC Milan star’s defensive responsibilities were also highlighted by Eguavoen. “When Chukwueze tracks back to help defend, he must be aware of when to release the ball and not attempt unnecessary dribbles,” he explained.
Nigeria faces Libya on Friday, October 11, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, followed by the return leg on Tuesday, October 15, at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Benghazi.

Eguavoen’s guidance aims to maximize Chukwueze’s talents while maintaining a balanced team performance.
He said: “You can imagine Chukwueze coming to defence to help, he gets the ball, what does he do, not dribble.
“We know how good he is when he has to dribble but he should know where to dribble, he should know where not to dribble.
“If he comes in he has to do his defensive duty. It is a responsibility but he knows what to do, so these are things we go through every now and then.”
