Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti has expressed disappointment over his team’s crushing 5-2 defeat to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final.

Despite the loss, Ancelotti praised forward Kylian Mbappe’s standout performance, including an impressive goal in the 5th minute.

Cyber Reporters reports that the match started well for Real Madrid, with Mbappe’s goal energizing the team.

However, Barcelona responded strongly, with Lamine Yamal equalizing in the 22nd minute.

Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Alejandro Balde added to the tally, giving Barcelona a 4-1 lead at halftime.

Raphinha scored Barcelona’s fifth goal immediately after the break, sealing their dominance. Rodrygo managed to score a consolation goal for Real Madrid, but the damage was already done.

Ancelotti lamented his team’s lack of defensive cohesion, stating that they struggled to find solutions despite having an extra man.

The Real Madrid boss praised Mbappe’s performance but acknowledged that the rest of the team fell short.

Ancelotti emphasized the need to improve their defensive strategy, noting that they struggled in high-pressure situations and when set up in a low block.

This loss serves as a reminder of the challenges ahead for Real Madrid as they aim to bounce back and regain their form.
