The impacted officers are on salary grade levels 12 to 16 and are scheduled for advancement in January and July 2025, respectively.

According to Tribune Online, the move aims to reduce promotion delays, which have been a source of concern for both the government and many federal servants.

According to reports from Asaba, the interview panel is chaired by the Head of Service, Mr. Reginald Bayoko, while officers who attended the exercise on Monday expressed their joy and appreciation for the early interview, describing it as a proactive step towards addressing the accumulation of promotion arrears.

They praised the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for his efforts to improve working conditions in the state, as well as the Head of Service, Mr. Reginald Bayoko, for aligning himself with the governor’s MORE agenda, which prioritizes worker welfare.

One of the responders, Mr. Augustine Itawansa, a Deputy Director who expects to be promoted to Salary Grade 17, requested the government to continue this trend by holding promotion interviews in November or December of each year, as is now done.

According to the officer, the exercise went smoothly and would assist minimize the issue of accumulated arrears to a bare minimum.
