Tragedy struck in Ogun State’s Wadoye community, Ifo LGA, after Olamide Akinolu, 30, was allegedly brutally beaten to death.

Cyber Reporters gathered that the incident occurred at Osas Hotel, where Akinolu had arranged to meet a man regarding musical instrument rentals.

According to reports, Akinolu had paid N50,000 for the instruments before the meeting. However, upon arrival, he was allegedly attacked by unidentified individuals.

It was gathered that the assault took place on Tuesday at approximately 12:40 pm and the victim’s father promptly reported the incident to the Ajuwon division of the Police Command.

Omolola Odutola, Police spokesperson in Ogun State who confirmed the incident on Wednesday stated that Akinolu was rushed to the hospital, where he was unfortunately pronounced dead.

Odutola said the circumstances surrounding Akinolu’s death are currently under investigation, stressing that the police are working to identify and apprehend the perpetrators responsible for the senseless act of violence.

She said: “He sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital, where the doctor pronounced him dead.

“This prompted a group of people to organise an attack on the hotel.

“The hotel manager was injured, and several instruments were damaged during the violence. Our officers were dispatched to the scene to restore order.

“Meanwhile, the body has been taken to a mortuary in Olambe for examination and autopsy.”
