Red Star Belgrade forward, Peter Olayinka has vowed to bounce back from a devastating Achilles tendon injury that will keep him sidelined for approximately nine months.

The 29-year-old Nigerian international suffered the injury during his team’s UEFA Champions League away clash against AS Monaco.

Cyber Reporters gathered that Olayinka underwent successful surgery in Finland and has begun his rehabilitation journey.

Despite the lengthy recovery period, the former Slavia Prague striker remains optimistic, drawing strength from his faith.

“In the midst of your struggles, God is your constant companion,” Olayinka wrote on X, quoting Isaiah 26:3. “He whispers peace into your soul and gives you strength to face another day. God is the greatest.”

A regular fixture for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Olayinka has earned 4 caps and scored 1 goal for the national team.

At Red Star Belgrade, he has scored 30 goals in 103 appearances, helping the team win two Serbian SuperLiga titles.

Olayinka’s determination and resilience will be crucial as he navigates this challenging period.

With his faith and medical team supporting him, he is poised to make a successful comeback.
