Chairman of Monday Okpebholo’s transition committee, Pius Odubu has issued a stern warning to incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki, urging him to transparently share all necessary information to ensure a seamless transition.
Odubu who is also the former deputy governor, emphasized that hiding information would only lead to delays and potential problems down the line.
At the inauguration of the outgoing and incoming government transition committee members in Benin City, Odubu stressed that the committee needs all relevant documents to brief the governor-elect effectively.
He noted that the transition process is time-sensitive and requires cooperation from the outgoing administration.
Odubu’s message was clear: “Electioneering is over; it’s time to govern. We have capable hands, and you must provide all necessary information.”
He warned that any hidden information would eventually come to light, emphasizing the importance of transparency.
Odubu explained that the transition committee expects the outgoing administration to provide documents, both hard and soft copies, within the prescribed timeframe.
He requested cooperation, stating, “We need to go through them, sensitize them, and brief the governor-elect so he can hit the ground running.”
According to Odubu, Okpebholo, the newly elected governor has pledged to focus on economic reform, foreign investment, and infrastructure development in Edo State.
