Prominent Nigerian actress, Halima Abubakar has been suspended indefinitely by the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, due to unprofessional misconduct.

The Guild found her guilty of spreading false information and malicious rumors about fellow actors, associates, and patrons, including allegations of extramarital affairs with influential individuals.

The guild in a statement disclosed that a two-year investigation conducted by a special secret panel uncovered Halima’s involvement in slandering the industry.

The panel’s findings revealed that she was behind the malicious information spread about members, associates, and patrons, particularly regarding extramarital affairs with highly placed individuals.

As a result, Halima Abubakar is barred from participating in any AGN or filming activities during her suspension.

According the statement, the National/State Chapter Taskforces will monitor compliance with the suspension order, and any violations may lead to further disciplinary actions.

It’s worth noting that Halima Abubakar has been an advocate for ending tribalism in Nollywood, speaking out against the practice in 2013.

However, her current situation highlights the importance of maintaining professional ethics and responsible behavior within the industry.
