The ongoing conflicts between the US, Israel, and Iran could affect Nigeria’s participation in a four-nation invitational tournament this month.

The tournament was billed to be played in Amman, Jordan.

Apart from the host Jordan, Iran, and Costa Rica were the other teams expected to take part.

But according to former media officer of the Super Eagles, Colin Udoh, the mini-tournament could be moved to Europe, while Iran might pull out.

He wrote on X: “An NFF source tells me the mini-tournament that the Super Eagles were scheduled to play this month will be relocated, possibly to Europe, due to the situation in the Middle East. But Iran will no longer participate.

“However, if a tournament is not possible, organizers are working on a single game between Nigeria and Jordan, with the location also in Europe.

“On his part, NFF President Ibrahim Gusau told me when I asked him earlier this week: “We are monitoring the situation for now, we still have three weeks.”
