Nigeria National League, NNL, side Heartland FC has been ordered by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Players’ Status and Arbitration Committee to pay coach Charles Uzor N6.4 million for the unlawful termination of his contract.

Uzor signed a two‑year deal on 1st August 2024 at N700,000 per month.

His contract was terminated on 11th June 2025 without cause or proper procedure

Uzor had claimed N8.4 million for the remaining term. After reviewing the submissions of both parties, the Committee ruled that Heartland FC must pay N6.4 million as compensation to the coach within 45 days of receiving the decision.

The NFF warned that non‑compliance would trigger a transfer and registration ban.

The ruling reinforces the NFF’s stance on contractual integrity in Nigerian football.
