Real Madrid manager Álvaro Arbeloa, on Tuesday set a record after his side’s UEFA Champions League Round of 16 playoff first leg win on Tuesday.

Recall that Arbeloa watched as Real Madrid defeated Benfica 1-0 in Portugal.

Vinicius Junior scored the only goal of the match to give the Spanish LaLiga giants a first-leg advantage.

According to OptaJose, Real Madrid have scored in all nine of their matches under Arbeloa as manager in all competitions this season (23 goals in total).

The latest record is the best start by any manager at the club since Manuel Pellegrini in the 2009/10 season, who scored in his first 10 matches.

Real Madrid’s next match is against Osasuna this weekend in the LaLiga.
