Nigeria striker, Victor Osimhen, is facing a one-match ban ahead of Sunday’s 2026 World Cup playoff final against DR Congo.

This follows his booking in the 4-1 win over Gabon in the semi-final on Thursday.

Osimhen was shown a yellow card for pulling off his shirt, as he celebrated his first goal in extra time.

The Galatasaray talisman had missed a great chance to win the game at the end of regulation time.

And his emotions got the better of him, as he finally got on the score sheet, finishing off Benjamin Frederick’s pass.

If Osimhen gets another caution on Sunday, he will be suspended the intercontinental playoff if the Super Eagles qualify.

Vice-captain, Wilfred Ndidi, is already suspended for the DR Congo match after he picked up a booking against Gabon.
