Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets will face off against Ghana’s Black Starlets in the semi-finals of the WAFU Zone B U17 Championship in Côte d’Ivoire on Tuesday.
Cyber Reporters reports that the highly anticipated match is set for 8 p.m. Nigeria time at the Stade Charles Konan Banny.
The Eaglets secured their spot in the semi-finals after a goalless draw with Burkina Faso on Saturday, finishing top of Group B.
Ghana, on the other hand, sealed second place in Group A after defeating Niger 3-1 in their final group fixture.
A win against Ghana would not only take Nigeria to the final but also guarantee their spot in the 2025 Africa U17 Cup of Nations.
The rivalry between the two teams adds extra excitement to the encounter, with both nations having rich histories at the U17 level.
Head Coach Manu Garba expressed confidence in the Eaglets progress, despite being a relatively new group with limited international experience.
He believes the Golden Eaglets will improve as the tournament progresses and is determined to defend Nigeria’s regional crown.
The other semi-final will feature hosts Côte d’Ivoire against Burkina Faso.
