Chelsea winger, Raheem Sterling has reportedly turned down a late opportunity to join Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.
The 30-year-old England international has been left out of Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca’s squad since the summer and has been training separately from the first team.
Sterling’s exclusion from the Chelsea squad has led to speculation about his future, and Bayern Munich’s interest in him came after they initially targeted Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson on loan.
However, instead of pursuing Jackson, the Bundesliga champions reportedly approached Sterling with an offer.
Reports say Sterling rejected Bayern Munich’s approach due to concerns about relocating his family to Germany or being away from them for an extended period.
Despite Sterling’s decision, his bond with Bayern Munich manager, Vincent Kompany remains strong.
The two were former teammates at Manchester City, where they won six major trophies, including the Premier League, during their time together at the Etihad Stadium.
Kompany recently expressed his enduring connection with Sterling, stating that their bond will “always remain.”
However, for now, Sterling’s future remains uncertain, with his Chelsea career seemingly at a crossroads.
