Brazilian football legend, Ronaldo is urging the country’s Italian coach, Carlo Ancelotti, to include Neymar in the squad for the upcoming World Cup in North America.
Cyber Reporters gathered Neymar, Brazil’s record goalscorer with 79 goals from 128 matches, has not played for the national team since October 2023 due to a serious knee injury.
Ronaldo, a two-time World Cup winner with Brazil, believes Neymar is a decisive player for the Selecao and that his inclusion would significantly improve the team’s chances.
“He is a decisive player for the Brazilian Selecao. We don’t have another player like Neymar,” Ronaldo said during a publicity event in Sao Paulo.
Ronaldo added that the Brazilian people are hoping for Neymar’s inclusion, saying, “The people hope 100 per cent that he will go to the World Cup because if he is there, we will definitely have better results than if he’s not there.”
Neymar has been plagued by injuries in recent years, including a serious knee ligament rupture that kept him out for a year.
Ancelotti has not called up Neymar for the national team since his injury, citing concerns about his fitness level.
However, Ronaldo’s comments suggest that Neymar’s talent and experience could be crucial for Brazil’s success in the World Cup.
