Nigeria international Tosin Demehin has signed a contract extension with Galatasaray Women following a standout debut season in Turkish football.

The 23-year-old centre-back joined the Istanbul club from French side Stade de Reims in the summer of 2024 and quickly established herself as a key figure in the squad. She made 26 appearances across all competitions, scoring once and playing a pivotal role in Galatasaray’s fourth-place finish in the Turkish Women’s Super League.

Demehin’s contributions also helped secure Galatasaray’s first-ever qualification for the UEFA Women’s Champions League,  a landmark moment for the club.

Her domestic success mirrored her rise on the international stage. Demehin featured in every match of Nigeria’s triumphant 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) campaign in Morocco, helping the Super Falcons claim a record-extending 10th continental title. She also scored her first international goal during Nigeria’s 5-0 quarter-final win over Zambia.

“It was a dream tournament for me,  playing every game, scoring for my country, and lifting the trophy with my teammates,” she said after the victory.

Demehin’s contract renewal also signals a growing Nigerian presence at Galatasaray, where she joins Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, who signed for the men’s team earlier this summer.

As Galatasaray prepare for the 2025-26 season, Demehin’s leadership, aerial strength, and tactical intelligence will be central to the club’s ambitions both domestically and in Europe.
