A heated exchange on social media between rapper Nicki Minaj and former NFL wide receiver Dez Bryant has taken a sensational turn, following a series of public allegations, personal jabs, and an apparent offer of a multi-million-dollar prize for a physical confrontation.
The dispute appears to have stemmed from comments made by Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who recently addressed a contract disagreement involving linebacker Micah Parsons. In a statement, Jones claimed he prefers not to deal with agents, referencing what he described as a “bad experience” during Dez Bryant’s contract negotiations while Bryant was represented by Roc Nation, the entertainment agency founded by Jay-Z.
Both Bryant and Roc Nation have publicly refuted Jones’ characterization of past dealings. However, the situation took an unexpected twist when Minaj, who has previously expressed criticism of Roc Nation, entered the fray. Responding to one of Bryant’s social media posts, Minaj claimed to have “plenty of stories” about Jay-Z and executives at Roc Nation, insinuating undisclosed wrongdoing.
Bryant quickly distanced himself from Minaj’s remarks, stating clearly that he had no interest in becoming involved in her longstanding feud with the agency. Nevertheless, tensions escalated after Minaj brought up Bryant’s 2012 arrest for allegedly assaulting his mother, a charge Bryant has consistently denied and which was later dismissed.
In response, Bryant referenced Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, a registered sex offender, intensifying the feud further. The situation reached a new level of notoriety when Minaj purportedly offered Bryant $10 million in cash to engage in a physical fight with her husband. Bryant responded publicly, accepting the challenge and urging Minaj to “get the money ready,” vowing to fight Petty “right in front of her.”
As of now, Minaj has not addressed Bryant’s reply. The incident, which began as a discussion around contract negotiations and representation in the NFL, has evolved into a deeply personal and highly public conflict drawing widespread attention on social media.
Neither Jay-Z nor Roc Nation has commented on the matter.
