Arsenal have officially announced the signing of Spanish defender Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia in a deal worth an initial £13 million (€15 million).
The 21-year-old centre-back has agreed a five-year contract with the Premier League side, with the option to extend for a further year. He completed his medical in London before joining up with Mikel Arteta’s squad for pre-season preparations in Singapore.
The total fee for the deal could rise through performance-based add-ons.
Speaking via Arsenal’s official website, Mosquera said:
“There’s been a lot of hard work behind all of this. It’s an opportunity that came up and I couldn’t let it pass me by. I’m joining a historic, massive club. When you arrive here with your family, you really feel the greatness of this place.”
Manager Mikel Arteta expressed his enthusiasm about the signing, praising Mosquera’s maturity and versatility:
“We’re delighted to welcome Cristhian to Arsenal. As a 21-year-old defender, he has already shown consistency and quality in La Liga. He’s an intelligent player with good pace and can operate centrally or on either side of the back line.”

Mosquera becomes the latest addition to Arteta’s squad as the Gunners prepare to challenge on multiple fronts in the 2025/26 campaign.
