Rasheedat Ajibade gave Nigeria the lead late in the first half, converting from the spot after a handball by South Africa’s Bambanani Mbane. Banyana Banyana levelled on the hour mark through Hildah Magaia, who was brought down in the box by Osinachi Ohale.

With the game poised for extra time, Michelle Alozie fired in a stunning stoppage-time winner from distance, sending the nine-time champions into their 14th WAFCON final.

In the other semi-final, hosts Morocco triumphed 4-2 on penalties against Ghana after a 1-1 draw in Rabat. Stella Nyamekye opened the scoring for the Black Queens before Sakina Ouzraoui equalised for the Atlas Lionesses. The shootout saw Ghana miss twice, handing Morocco their first-ever WAFCON final appearance.
