Liverpool have reached a £79m (€91m) agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign French striker Hugo Ekitike.
The 22-year-old is expected to arrive in the UK on Tuesday , 22nd July 2025 for a medical before finalising a six-year contract with the Premier League champions.
Ekitike will become Liverpool’s fifth major signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, and goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili. His signing takes the club’s summer spending to £289m, and the transfer activity may not be over yet.
The Frenchman enjoyed a standout campaign with Frankfurt last season, scoring 22 goals in 48 appearances across all competitions, including 15 in the Bundesliga. His performances earned him a place in the Bundesliga Team of the Season.
Newcastle United were also in the race but saw a £70m bid rejected last week, falling £16m short of Ekitike’s release clause. Liverpool moved swiftly to meet the valuation.
The striker will join Jürgen Klopp’s squad for their pre-season tour in Asia later this week once his move is completed.
Ekitike previously played for Paris Saint-Germain, where he scored four goals in 33 appearances after joining from Reims.
