Premier League giants Manchester City , have signed a landmark extension to their partnership with Puma, in a deal reportedly worth £1 billion over the next ten years span,  making it the most lucrative kit agreement in English football history.

The agreement, which renews the partnership first launched in 2019, will now run until 2035, increasing City’s annual earnings from £65 million to £100 million per year, according to sources close to the deal. The figure eclipses Manchester United’s £90 million-per-year deal with Adidas, signed last year, and places City among the global elite alongside Real Madrid and Barcelona, who are also believed to have kit deals worth over £100 million annually.

“We joined forces with Puma with the ambition to challenge ourselves and go beyond expectations. We have achieved this and more over the last six seasons,” said Ferran Soriano, CEO of City Football Group. “Puma have seamlessly integrated into our organization, and we have enjoyed many historic moments together, engaging fans globally.”

The deal not only reflects Manchester City’s commercial strength off the pitch but reinforces their stature as a global footballing brand. Despite enduring a rare trophyless season under manager Pep Guardiola, City’s market appeal remains robust, driven by sustained success in recent years, including a historic treble in 2023.

Puma CEO Arthur Hoeld called the extension “a great success both on and off the pitch,” crediting the partnership with supporting City’s rise as both a dominant football force and a global marketing powerhouse.

“This collaboration has aligned with Manchester City’s consistent performance, innovation, and global reach,” Hoeld added. “It stands as a benchmark in modern sports partnerships.”

The announcement comes during a period of strategic recalibration for the club. City finished third in the Premier League this past season, bringing an end to their four-year title streak. The team also lost the FA Cup final to Crystal Palace and exited the FIFA Club World Cup at the round of 16, falling to Saudi side Al-Hilal.

While their on-field dominance momentarily faltered, the Puma deal underlines City’s unmatched commercial momentum, signaling continued investment and growth for years to come.
