Fellow citizens of Eti-Osa,
As we approach the decisive moment in this election, I stand before you not just as a candidate, but as your neighbor, your brother, and your voice. Over the past months, I have traversed every ward, every street, and every community in our great LGA, listening to you, understanding your pains, and sharing in your hopes.
My campaign has not been built on empty slogans but on a clear, actionable manifesto. I have consistently spoken about:
✅ Infrastructure Renewal: Modernizing our roads, drainage systems, and public spaces to tackle persistent issues like flooding in places like Agungi-Jakande, which for years has been submerged in neglect and foul water despite being motorable.
✅ Economic Empowerment: Providing genuine support for small businesses and traders through access to micro-credit and business advisory services, so our people can grow and prosper in dignity.
✅ Youth and Women Development: Equipping our young people and women with skills and opportunities to thrive in today’s digital and creative economies.
✅ Transparent Governance: Running an open government where public funds are accounted for, and citizens have a say in how their LGA is managed.
✅ Security and Community Policing: Partnering with security agencies and local vigilantes to ensure our communities are safe and peaceful for all.
I have not shied away from speaking the truth about the challenges we face, particularly the credibility crisis currently facing LASIEC. We all know the stories of inefficiency and the doubts people harbor about the transparency of the process. Let me state clearly: we are working tirelessly to safeguard your votes.
We have mobilized lawyers, election observers, and a team of dedicated party agents who will be present at every polling unit to ensure that results reflect the true will of the people. Your vote will not disappear into thin air. It will count.
I also recognize the deep sense of voter apathy in our land. Many of you have told me, “What’s the point of voting? The system is rigged.” I understand this frustration, but I urge you: do not surrender your power. This is precisely what those who benefit from the status quo want — for good people to give up.
Every time we stay home, we give corrupt and incompetent leaders a free pass. Let us not allow them to write the story of our future. Come out and vote. Your single vote is your voice, and together, our collective voices can bring about the change Eti-Osa desperately needs.
Let me assure you: I am not in this race for myself but for all of us. For the traders in Jakande Market, for the tech innovators in Lekki, for the families dealing with daily flooding, for the young men and women seeking opportunities, and for every resident who wants to live in an Eti-Osa that works.
The choice before us is stark: continue with the same recycled politicians who have left us in darkness, or embrace a new dawn with leadership that is accountable, visionary, and truly committed to the people’s welfare.
On election day, I humbly ask you to vote John Ademola Akano. Together, let’s build an Eti-Osa that we can all be proud of.
