Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has praised injured midfielder Rodri for taking on a teaching role for the team and assisting his teammates during their vital run-in.

Rodri, who tore his cruciate knee ligament in September, has been working on his recovery and was seen in the City dressing room before the team’s 2-1 victory over Aston Villa, offering assistance to his colleagues.

“I love that. All the guys who can’t play and are injured, I allow them to be a manager,” Guardiola said.

He continued, “The role of a holding midfielder, Rodri knows perfectly and he can help the guys there.”

Guardiola emphasized the significance of team bonding, saying, “It’s the manner that forms teams, the link, something special, when the men who can’t play can help the guys who do.
