Chelsea’s final Premier League home game of the season against Manchester United has been rescheduled to avoid conflict with the Women’s FA Cup final between the two clubs on Sunday, May 18.
Instead, the Premier League game will be played on Friday, May 16, at 20:00 BST. It will be broadcast on Sky Sport.
The complete round of matches was set for May 18, as the Premier League had already promised not to play any games on the men’s FA Cup final day on May 17.
However, Chelsea’s match against United in the women’s equivalent the next day also posed a problem.
Both clubs wanted fans to be able to see both the Wembley spectacle and the men’s game, so they requested a change in schedule, which the Premier League agreed to.
The only other game in that round that will not be played on Sunday is Brighton’s home game against champions-elect Liverpool, which will now take place on Monday, May 19 (20:00 BST).
The match could not be rescheduled until after that weekend since United may be playing in the Europa League final in Bilbao on Wednesday, May 21.
