Former Chelsea winger, Shaun Wright-Phillips has advised his old club to secure Jadon Sancho’s services on a permanent basis Cyber Reporters reports.

Sancho, who joined Chelsea on a season-long loan from Manchester United last August, has an obligation-to-buy clause in his contract, which would require Chelsea to pay between £20m and £25m to sign him permanently.

Wright-Phillips believes that Chelsea should take advantage of this opportunity, citing Sancho’s proven potential and capabilities.

“We all know Jadon’s potential,” Wright-Phillips said in an interview. “If Chelsea worked the way Chelsea worked, they would normally sign him, because they know what he’s capable of and they’ve seen him do it.”

Although Sancho has not been as prolific as expected, scoring only two goals and providing seven assists in 28 games for Chelsea, Wright-Phillips thinks that he is still a worthwhile investment.

“If Chelsea are taking risks on the amount of players they are taking risks on, I don’t think he’s a bad one,” Wright-Phillips said.

“We know what he’s already done in a game. If he makes his way back, you’ve got a player on your hands,” he added.

With Chelsea’s future transfer plans still uncertain, securing Sancho’s signature could provide a much-needed boost to the team’s attacking options.

Wright-Phillips’ endorsement may carry some weight, given his own experiences as a Chelsea player.
