Southampton manager, Ivan Juric has lavished praise on Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu for his exceptional performance in the team’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.
Cyber Reporters reports that Onuachu’s impressive header in the 20th minute, expertly directing Mateus Fernandes’ cross past Dean Henderson, gave Southampton an early lead.
The goal was Onuachu’s fourth in the Premier League this season.
Although Crystal Palace equalized in stoppage time through substitute Matheus Franca, Juric was quick to commend Onuachu’s efforts.
“When he’s full of energy, he can be really impactful,” Juric said. “He did a great job out there.”
His performance was a welcome boost for Southampton, who have struggled to find consistency this season.
Onuachu, 30, has been working hard to regain his form after a slow start to the season.
The Nigerian international has made 20 league appearances for Southampton, scoring four goals and providing one assist.
Despite his struggles, Onuachu remains a key player for the Saints, and his recent performances have shown promising signs of improvement.
Southampton will be looking to build on their recent draw with Crystal Palace when they face off against Liverpool in their next Premier League match.
The Saints will need Onuachu to continue his good form if they hope to secure a positive result against the Reds. With the Premier League season heating up, Onuachu’s performances will be crucial in determining Southampton’s fate.
