Moses Simon, a Nantes winger, has been nominated for the Best African Player of the Year award in France.
The renowned award is named after Marc-Vivien Foé, a former Cameroonian international.
Simon has been in top form for Nantes this season. The Nigerian international has seven goals and eight assists for Antoine Kombouaré’s team.
The 29-year-old hopes to follow in the footsteps of countrymen Vincent Enyeama and Victor Osimhen, who have already received the prize.
Enyeama was the first Nigerian to win the award during the 2013/14 season. Osimhen won it during his stint at Lille in the 2019/20 season.
