UEFA has launched an investigation into allegations of improper conduct by four Real Madrid players after their Champions League last-16 victory over Atletico Madrid.
Antonio Rudiger, Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr, and Dani Ceballos allegedly made gestures toward home fans after Real Madrid defeated their city rivals on penalties to go to the quarterfinals.
Following the shootout triumph, German defender Rudiger appeared to make a throat-slitting gesture towards the fans, while Mbappe appeared to grasp his crotch.
Atletico reported the incidents to Uefa last week. The players could face suspension, but there is no guarantee the matter will be heard before the quarter-final against Arsenal.
The first leg of the tie will be held at Emirates Stadium on April 8th, with the return game taking place a week later.
Uefa has appointed an ethics and disciplinary inspector to investigate allegations of improper conduct against four Real Madrid players. Further information on this subject will be made available in due course.”
