Victor Osimhen stole the show with a stunning brace as Nigeria’s Super Eagles soared to a 2-0 victory over Rwanda’s Amavubi in their CAF World Cup qualification Group C clash on Friday.

Osimhen opened the scoring in the 11th minute, expertly converting a pinpoint cross from Ademola Lookman Cyber Reporters reports.

He doubled Nigeria’s lead in first-half stoppage time, securing a crucial win for the Super Eagles.

The match was marked by a physical battle, with both teams receiving yellow cards.

Despite Rwanda enjoying 45% possession, they struggled to breach Nigeria’s defense, managing only two shots on target.

In contrast, Nigeria dominated offensive play, registering three shots on target and eight corner kicks.

The victory propels Nigeria to fourth place in Group C with six points from five matches, keeping their qualification hopes alive.

Nigeria will now focus on their upcoming fixtures, aiming to climb the standings and secure a spot in the next stage of the qualification campaign.

South Africa currently leads the group with 10 points, followed by Benin and Rwanda.
